Friday Fun Finds

friday fun finds
This week’s fun finds are just random fun things I’ve found from MANY different wonderful teachers!
And on with our fun finds…
So, I think everyone in the BLOGGING WORLD knows who Deanna Jump is… and if you don’t, she’s pretty much the QUEEN of Tpt! Well she has the most adorable Text-to-Self activity from “Where the Wild Things Are” and she even has a FREE printable at her Tpt store!

This activity looks like a lot of fun! I think doing a compare and contrast, then having the kids draw their favorites for each one would be such a fun activity! So head on over the Life in First Grade to check out this FUN activity!
This activity is super cute! We just got done doing our Geometry unit and I wish that I would have seen this activity before. I think it would be fun for the kids to cut pictures out of magazines of the different shapes. Check this activity out over at Mrs. Morrow’s blog.

I love this math tub! The kids get to throw and add the numbers together. Check it out at the Guided Math blog.
I LOVE this idea for later in the year when we start teaching Multiplication! What a great interactive way to learn… Check it out on Mrs. Hart’s Blog.

Martha’s Shower

Last weekend we threw a shower for our friend Martha.  She is getting ready to have her first baby boy and they are naming him Andrew John Bryant.  They plan to call him Andy.  Baby C is excited for his new friend to come into this world VERY SHORTLY.

We did the theme “She’s about to POP!”

We also had a “Favors” table which was filled with tons of sweets… the center was DELICIOUS cake pops, then we had ring pops, pop rocks, lolipops, tootsie roll pops, blow pops. And the popcorn boxes were for the guests to take home all of the goodies.

This was one of the funniest things! Emily (who was such a great hostess!!!!) made the most PRECIOUS little corsage for Martha out of a pacifier. And, OF COURSE, Caycen wanted that thing so bad! (yes, I brought Caycen to the shower, everyone was out of town that weekend geez! BUT he was on his BEST BEHAVIOR as always Smile)

Friday Fun Finds with Dr. Seuss

Hey Everyone!!! Today's "Fun Finds" are all about the one and only, Dr. Seuss!
Celebrating Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite times of the year :) I've decided to turn my Friday "Fun Finds" into a linky party, so if you have any fun ideas for Dr. Seuss week, I would love it if you would link up!

Usually we do a whole week of school-wide activities.  Every day has a different theme. Crazy socks day, hat day, twin day, backwards day, and, my FAVORITE, Character Dress-up day!

Did I say I LOVE Dr. Seuss week???

Well here are some fun finds that you could use in your classroom (I know I will be using in mine!!!)
Check out this fun activity over at http://eberhartsexplorers.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2011-03-19T07%3A43%3A00-07%3A00&max-results=7
I saw this and thought it would be a fun writing activity to do with the kids.  They could write about a place they would like to go.
I found this last year from the AMAZING Cara Carroll over at http://www.thefirstgradeparade.com/ and I used it with "The Foot Book" soooo much fun!
