Ok… bare with me… so I saw this and immediately thought “this would be so much fun to do with Caycen when he gets older”… but then when I was thinking about money activities, I thought this could be a fun game to put a bunch of coins in and have the students search for the different coins they see, write them down, add them up, or even make a graph to see which one they found the most of. Just an idea…

Friday Fun Finds

Welcome to this weeks edition of
This week I’ve just picked some random fun ideas that I found to do in the classroom…
What a fun way to do writing! The students draw a setting, character, and a problem, then write a story with them. I will definitely be doing this with my kids! We are doing Fairy Tales right now, so I think I might try this with them next week.
This is soooo neat!!! If you’re teaching about the water cycle, this would be perfect! It’s supposed to be clouds and rain.
These are so cute! I actually did something similar to this in my classroom (without the book report) for decorations. My room is a safari theme, and my little guy on the wall says “We Spot Great Work”! I would love to do this with my students though!
I just love David!!! :)
What a great idea! You could even do this with vocabulary words and the definitions! I need to buy one of these :)

Well everyone, those are the fun finds for this week! I hope everyone is having a WONDERFUL week!!!
Happy Friday!
Love,
Amy

Dr. Seuss Week

This past week was Dr. Seuss week at our school. We did lots of fun activities from my Dr. Seuss Math and Literacy pack! You can find it at my Tpt store or my TN store.
We did reading groups all week long:

SAM_0966
At our school we also do a little contest for birthday banners for Dr. Seuss.  The winning class gets books for their classroom library. Our banner was inspired by a picture that I found on pinterest:
Here is our banner:
SAM_0967
We used our “Things” from my Dr. Seuss activity set and wrote rhyming words on the tummies:
SAM_0968
it’s hard to read… but the tummy says “dog and log”. The kids had to come up with their own rhyming words!!!!
Now, I’m pretty sure that my class won’t be winning because look at this CUTENESS that one of the kindergarten classes put together!!!!

This para is SO talented!!! shh I think she used to be an ART teacher!!! Smile
On Friday we had Character Dress-Up Day and I forgot my stinkin’ camera!!!!! Geez!!! But, I was a Green Bellied Sneetch for character dress-up day and I had tons of Cat in the Hats, Cindy Lou Whos, Sallys, etc.
It was such a fun week!!!

Friday Fun Finds

friday fun finds
This week’s fun finds are just random fun things I’ve found from MANY different wonderful teachers!
And on with our fun finds…
So, I think everyone in the BLOGGING WORLD knows who Deanna Jump is… and if you don’t, she’s pretty much the QUEEN of Tpt! Well she has the most adorable Text-to-Self activity from “Where the Wild Things Are” and she even has a FREE printable at her Tpt store!
Pinned Image
This activity looks like a lot of fun! I think doing a compare and contrast, then having the kids draw their favorites for each one would be such a fun activity! So head on over the Life in First Grade to check out this FUN activity!
This activity is super cute! We just got done doing our Geometry unit and I wish that I would have seen this activity before. I think it would be fun for the kids to cut pictures out of magazines of the different shapes. Check this activity out over at Mrs. Morrow’s blog.

I love this math tub! The kids get to throw and add the numbers together. Check it out at the Guided Math blog.
I LOVE this idea for later in the year when we start teaching Multiplication! What a great interactive way to learn… Check it out on Mrs. Hart’s Blog.
